July: Hospitality

In July 2020, I am practicing being a host.

We are hosts; we are either hosts to a virus and prejudice or we are hosts to vitality and compassion. Both COVID-19 and racism can only grow wherever the environment allows for them to grow. Therefore, this month of July, I am mindful of what I am being a host to. I am a host to love, so I allow myself to receive love. I am a host to surprise, so I allow myself to rest and have unstructured time so little things may come up. I am a host of new ideas, so I allow myself time to think and read. I am a host to vitality, so I allow myself to hear my body's wisdom. And, of course, I am a host of compassion, so I allow myself to listen, to feel, to learn, and unlearn.
